Ranking and Watchlist Methodology

Published 8 September 2026  ·  Reviewed annually, or whenever our practice changes

Rankings in medical travel are frequently paid placements in disguise. This page sets out how ours are produced, and what cannot buy a place in them.

What we rank

Eligibility

[The criteria an entity must meet to be considered, applied to every candidate identically.]

Criteria and weighting

[Each criterion, what evidence satisfies it, and how much it contributes. Where scoring is used, publish the scale.]

Data sources

Named, with dates, following our data methodology and verified under our fact-checking policy.

What plays no part

Advertising, sponsorship, data partnership, press-release volume, connection to the publisher, or willingness to participate. Entities cannot pay to be included, to be excluded, or to move.

Commercial disclosure

Where a ranked entity is a current advertiser, sponsor, data partner or a business connected to the publisher, that is disclosed in this methodology and beside the entry itself. See our related businesses policy and our ecosystem page.

Review and correction

Factual errors are handled under our corrections policy.
