A publication that reports on a commercially conflicted industry should be willing to answer the same questions it asks of others: who owns you, how do you make money, and what else do you do? This page answers them.
Ownership
Medical Tourism Watch is published by Altay Health Ltd.
Who is responsible
Editorial responsibility rests with our editorial team. They decide what is published, are accountable for its accuracy, and handle corrections.
How we make money
- Advertising — display and newsletter placements, sold on audience and clearly identifiable as advertising. See advertise with us.
- Sponsorship — of newsletters, reports and sections, always labelled. See our sponsored content policy.
- Research and reports — paid market reports and data products, whose sponsorship and commissioning arrangements are disclosed within the report itself.
We do not take commission on patient referrals, sell reader data, or accept payment for news coverage, rankings or watchlist inclusion.
Related businesses
The publisher holds interests in other businesses in and around medical travel. This is a real and ongoing conflict of interest, and we treat it as one. Those businesses are named on our ecosystem page, and the rules governing coverage of them are set out in our related businesses and editorial independence policy.
In short: buying a service from a business connected to the publisher does not secure coverage, favourable reporting, ranking inclusion or protection from criticism in Medical Tourism Watch. Neither does declining to.
Contributor payments
Where we commission outside contributors, we pay for the work directly and disclose any commercial interest the contributor holds in the subject. Contributors are never paid by, or on behalf of, the organisations they write about. See our contributor guidelines.
Gifts, travel and hospitality
We pay our own way wherever practical. Where travel, accommodation or access to a facility is provided by an organisation we cover, that fact is disclosed in the resulting article. Accepting hospitality never carries an obligation to publish, or to publish favourably.
Data partnerships
Where data is supplied by, or produced with, an outside organisation, we name the source, publish the methodology, and disclose any commercial relationship. See our data methodology.
Use of AI
Where AI is used, where it is not, and who remains accountable, is set out in our AI use policy.
Corrections and accountability
Errors are corrected openly and logged publicly. See our corrections policy and corrections log.
