Press Release Policy

Published 8 September 2026  ·  Reviewed annually, or whenever our practice changes

We publish press releases as a distinct, labelled content type. They are the issuer’s words, not our reporting.

What we accept

Announcements of genuine industry news: openings, closures, accreditation, appointments, partnerships, results, regulatory developments and product launches from organisations operating in medical travel.

How they are published

  • Labelled “Press Release” at the top.
  • The issuing organisation named prominently, with a contact.
  • No independent Medical Tourism Watch byline.
  • No claim of verification by us.
  • Excluded from our news, analysis and data sections.

What we edit

We may shorten, correct obvious errors, and remove unverifiable clinical claims, price claims without dates, and lead-generation calls to action. We do not add reporting to a release; if a release is worth reporting, we report it separately and independently.

What we reject

  • Releases making unverifiable outcome or safety claims.
  • Releases aimed at recruiting patients rather than informing the industry.
  • Releases from organisations we cannot identify.
  • Anything breaching our sponsored content standards.

Publishing a release is not coverage. It does not indicate that Medical Tourism Watch has verified the claims, endorses the organisation, or intends to report on it.

How to submit

See submit news. To pitch a story for independent reporting instead, see request coverage. This policy sits under our editorial policy.
